Summer Research: Eric Ortiz
This summer, 57 students from the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine are conducting research through the Veterinary Scholars Program, or VSP. The NC State College of Veterinary Medicine’s 10-week summer offering, which started in May, gives first- and second-year DVM students without prior research experience the opportunity to conduct a paid research project in a faculty mentor’s lab.
Among this year’s scholars is Eric Ortiz, who is conducting equine asthma research with Dr. Katie Sheats, an associate professor of equine primary care and Dr. Beth Cooper, a Ph.D. student researcher in the Sheats lab. Watch the video below to learn more about their summer research.
