Job title: Senior pathologist/manager Northeast, Experimental Pathology Laboratories

Describe your current position and what led to your job.

I had a career in safety assessment within large pharmaceutical companies with increasing levels of responsibility which led to my current job. I manage projects assigned to EPL Northeast, perform histopathology and consult with clients on regulatory issues. I perform pathology peer reviews and assist or run pathology working groups.

Describe job opportunity trends in your industry. What does the future look like for your industry?

The job opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry and affiliated industries are strong.

What advice would you offer alumni/students looking for a job in your field?

Don’t get impatient with all of the training it takes to become a veterinary pathologist. It is an exciting, intellectually stimulating job that never loses its interest.

What is the best career advice you have received?

Always be thinking how to better yourself for the next job you want.

Share one “do” or “don’t” that you have learned regarding resumes, interviewing, networking or job searching tactics.

Don’t be afraid to ask someone in the field you are interested about what they like and don’t like about their job.
