Welcome Class of 2015
North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine officially welcomed 80 members of the Class of 2015 during the annual White Coat Ceremony on August 6.
The group includes 47 students who completed their undergraduate careers with formal academic distinction including recipients with Summa Cum Laude (26), Magna Cum Laude (12), Cum Laude (6), Highest Honors (2), and Maximum Honors (1) recognition.
Animal Science (27) and Biology (24) are the most popular undergraduate majors and 62 class members are women and 18 are men. In addition to 32 North Carolina residents, class members come from 24 other states and four countries or U.S. possessions.
One first-year student has a Ph.D. in Biology and another is the recipient of the U.S. Army’s Bronze Star. Several students were varsity athletes as undergraduates including a swimmer who was an Olympic Trial Semifinalist.
