Summer 2019 The Oath Magazine
We’ve been spending a lot of time outside lately. Maybe it’s because of the longer sunny days and bluer skies we’ve seen lately. But it’s also because it’s always hard to resist hanging out on the farm that also happens to be our backyard.
In the latest edition of The Oath, we take a close look at our on-campus Teaching Animal Unit, or TAU, an 80-acre working farm that’s an indispensable teaching tool for students and a showcase of the CVM’s unwavering commitment to innovative farm animal medicine and our support of North Carolina’s agriculture industry.
Plus, there’s really, really cute baby cows and goats.
You’ll also see some photos from our most popular Open House yet, go behind the scenes as a beloved dog receives a total hip replacement and meet a generous CVM supporter who’s changing lives one dog at a time.
Since we were down on the farm, we visited our chickens and spent some time with new professor Rocio Crespo, who boasts a spirited passion for poultry health management. And in his latest message, CVM Dean Paul Lunn celebrates the Class of 2019 and veterinary medicine’s vital and changing role in agriculture.
So join us outside. Just don’t forget your sunscreen and bug spray.
