Students Compete in AASV Competition
The North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine was represented at the veterinary student poster and oral competition during the 43rd Annual Meeting of the American Association of Swine Veterinarians.
Brittney McLamb gave an oral presentation on “Early weaning impairs gut mucosal defense and exacerbates clinical disease in F18E. coliinfection.”
Kelsey Altholz gave an oral presentation on “A pilot study evaluating prevalence of PCV2 viremia in the breeding herd.”
Lisa Thompson gave a poster presentation on “Finding the keepers: The influence of observed parameters on gilt retention and productivity.”
Joshua Duff gave a poster presentation on“Surveillance ofBrachyspira hyodysenteriaein sows and suckling piglets.”
Kelsey Altholz and Brittney McLamb are recipients of a $500 scholarship from the American Association of Swine Veterinarians Foundation for their oral presentations and Lisa Thompson received a $220 award for her poster presentation.
