Student Recipient of AASV Scholarship
Kelsey LaVigne, NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine Class of 2014, is a recipient of $2,500 scholarship from the American Association of Swine Veterinarians Foundation.
The scholarship was presented during the 44th annual meeting of the American Association of Swine Veterinarians March 2-5 in San Diego, California.
Sixty-five veterinary students representing 14 universities submitted 70 abstracts for consideration. From those submissions, LaVigne and 14 other students were selected to present during the annual meeting. Zoetis, sponsor of the Student Seminar, provided a $750 travel stipend to each student selected to participate.
A panel of judges selected the recipients on the basis of communications skills in the writing of the abstract and the presentation of the case report, and on applicability of the research to swine medicine.
