As director, Gross develops and manages collections supporting the college’s veterinary programs and works closely with CVM faculty, staff and students on research and other educational projects. The library director also regularly leads workshops and seminars tailored to a range of research topics and evaluates research grant opportunities. The library, part of NCSU Libraries, is open to the public.

The library’s former director, Kristine Alpi, served for 11 years in the role before leaving for a librarian position at the Oregon Health and Science University.

Gross comes to the CVM from the Johns Hopkins University’s Welch Medical Library, where she works with researchers and students within the schools of public health and medicine. Gross is also an award-winning adjunct associate faculty member in public health school’s Department of Health Policy and Management.

Gross holds a master’s degree in library and information science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a master’s in English from Duquesne University and a bachelor’s in philosophy from California State University, Long Beach.
