Neel Appointed Assistant Dean of Student Development

Dr. Jennifer Neel, who has a lengthy track record of distinguished service and leadership at NC State College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM), has been appointed to the position of Assistant Dean of Student Development effective May 8th, 2017. She also continues to work as an Associate Professor in the Department of Population Health and Pathobiology. The appointment was announced by Dean Paul Lunn, saying “I am delighted that Dr. Jennifer Neel has accepted this vital leadership position in the college. The goal of the position is to ensure that we support our DVM students at every stage, from the admissions process right through finding their first job as a veterinarian. I also want to thank Dr. Neel for her outstanding service to the college during her interim appointment as Associate Dean and Director of Academic Affairs.”

Dr. Neel received her DVM from the University of Tennessee and holds a B.S. in Agribusiness from Arizona State University, where she graduated magna cum laude. She also holds board certification in veterinary clinical pathology.

As Assistant Dean of Student Development, Dr. Neel will report to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and will be responsible for providing innovative leadership for enhancing student success and positive quality of life. She will have oversight responsibility for Student Services, Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, Counseling, and Career Services and Professional Development.
