NC State College of Veterinary Medicine Hosts Seminar on Regenerative Medicine and Pet Health

The NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine and the Center for Comparative Medicine and Translational Research will host a free public seminar from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23 on regenerative medicine studies at NC State and how these investigations benefit pet health and well-being.

Topics covered in 15-minute segments and presented for a general public include an overview on regenerative medicine and stem cell activity at NC State, an update on using stem cells for canine spinal cord injuries, regenerative medicine approach to treating urinary incontinence, and the latest in limb sparing and transdermal osseointegration.

Regenerative medicine clinical trials and research investigations at the College of Veterinary Medicine not only promote new treatments for companion animals but the knowledge gained contributes to advancing human health. This One Medicine / One Health concept is the basis for the Center for Comparative Medicine and Translational Research.

The seminar will be held in the North Theater of the College of Veterinary Medicine’s main building on the NC State Centennial Biomedical Campus.
