In April, Dr. Kate Meurs became the dean of the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine following a nationwide search. Meurs is the first female dean of the college and the inaugural recipient of the Randall B. Terry Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine Endowed Dean’s Chair.

In this new video, Dean Meurs talks about her background, what it means to lead the college and her priorities as NC State continues to shape the future of veterinary medicine:

Meurs joined NC State in 2011 as associate dean for research and graduate studies in the college. In 2020 she was named the Randall B. Terry Jr. Distinguished Professor in Comparative Medicine. She became interim dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine in January 2022 before assuming the role permanently April 1.
