From the Field: Dispatches from Student Summer Experiences

Students at the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine have access to all kinds of internships, externships and research experiences during their four years of school. This summer, seven students will be sharing here some of what they’re doing and learning in real time.

Where: NC Museum of Natural Sciences

What she’ll be doing: Working with the museum’s veterinary team to care for the museum’s animals including reptiles, fish, amphibians and the occasional mammal.

Where: Johns Hopkins

What she’ll be doing: Working with an experimental Alzheimer’s drug to reduce progression and spread in the brain in a mice model.

Where: Thailand

What she’ll be doing: Veterinary-support staff and pre-vet mentor for the Loop Abroad program, working with a mix of wildlife conservation and small animal medicine.
