Dean Lunn Begins Term as AAVMC President

NC State College of Veterinary Medicine Dean Paul Lunn has begun a one-year term as president and board chair of the Association of American Veterinary Medical Colleges. 

The AAVMC is a nonprofit membership organization working to protect and improve the health and welfare of animals, people and the environment around the world by advancing academic veterinary medicine.

Members include 53 accredited veterinary medical colleges in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe, Australia, Asia and New Zealand. 

The organization’s Council on Education (COE) is the United States Department of Education-approved accrediting agency for colleges and schools of veterinary medicine in the United States, Canada and international institutions seeking accreditation by the agency. 

Lunn, an equine immunologist, has served as dean of the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine since 2012. 

During his tenure, the CVM has been recognized as a leading institution of its kind in the nation and has led the college through increasing international eminence. Lunn served as AAVMC president-elect for the past year.
