Two NC State College of Veterinary Medicine students are recipients of 2020 American Kennel Club Veterinary Outreach Scholarships.

The class of 2021’s Aimee Sink and the class of 2022’s Courtney Wicker are among 15 veterinary students nationwide earning this year’s scholarship, which recognizes those who promote animal health and well-being, as well as participate in AKC programs.

This year’s honorees were awarded a total of $35,000. Wicker also received the scholarship last year.

The AKC and its Canine Health Foundation are longtime supporters of the CVM’s groundbreaking cancer and infectious disease studies and regularly honor faculty with awards for canine health research.

In 2017, the AKC-CHF awarded the CVM a $100,000 grant to fund a companion animal theriogenology residency program.
