CVM Student Recipient of the Bovine Veterinary Recognition Award

Jonathan B. Wesson, a fourth year student at North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, is a recipient of the Bovine Veterinary Student Recognition Award presented by Merck and American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP).

Wesson was one of 16 DVM students to receive the national award which included a $5,000 scholarship and an expense-paid trip to the AABP Annual Conference in New Orleans. The award, which is presented to third or fourth year veterinary students, is based upon on academic achievement, career goals, and work experience.

“Meeting with these students, seeing their enthusiasm and watching them make connections that may define their careers, is an honor and privilege I look forward to each year,” said AABP Executive Vice President M. Gatz Riddell. “We thank Merck Animal Health for helping to motivate and recognize the next generation of bovine practitioners.”

Merck Animal Health, known as MSD Animal Health outside the United States and Canada, is the global animal health business unit of Merck pharmaceutical company Merck.
